Blithe Spirit is a comedic play by Noël Coward that centers on novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric medium Madame Arcati to his home to conduct a séance as research for his next book. The evening takes a bizarre turn when Madame Arcati inadvertently summons the ghost of Charles’s first wife, Elvira. Invisible to everyone but Charles, Elvira quickly makes her mischievous presence known, much to the bewilderment and growing frustration of Charles’s current wife, Ruth. What begins as a light-hearted experiment spirals into chaos as Elvira’s ghost attempts to reclaim her place in Charles’s life—dead or alive!
